This thesis intends to evaluate the performance efficiency of vernacular architecture in India and to propose up-gradation to meet the benchmark of the Indian and worldwide-accepted comfort standards such as ASHARE (American Society of Heating Ventilation and Air-conditioning Engineers) or ECBC. It is an attempt to rejuvenate the old but efficient practice of climate responsive architecture. To verify the proposal, author also design residential houses in two different climatic locations and validate the performance suitability through advanced software simulation.

Abstract
This thesis intends to evaluate the performance efficiency of vernacular architecture in India and to propose up-gradation to meet the benchmark of the Indian and worldwide-accepted comfort standards such as ASHARE (American Society of Heating Ventilation and Air-conditioning Engineers) or ECBC. It is an attempt to rejuvenate the old but efficient practice of climate responsive architecture. To verify the proposal, author also design residential houses in two different climatic locations and validate the performance suitability through advanced software simulation.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
