Le terme di Gorla : una nuova centralità lungo il Naviglio Martesana. Il sistema del naviglio come rivitalizzazione di aree periferiche per uno spazio di socialità urbana

Naviglio Martesana wants to be conceived as a design element and a connection between different components: different districts pertinences, several landing jumps, different functions, different paths but all thought for a single community, that of the ancient village. Analyzing and citing the history of the three common municipalities - Gorla, Greco, Turro - focuses more on that of Gorla, as it is the commonest district. Initially, the aspects that led to the formation of the village of Gorla were studied, and then they studied the wider relations that crossed and changed the relationship between the navy and “the little Paris”, a ship that transforms the village, making it more productive , more open socially and economically, and more protagonist of an urban design. Located on a land border, Gorla is made up of different architectural and landscaping elements that interact with each other and give the community “slender and pleasant sollips.” Fundamental are not just the presidents and the islands of faith, but also the public schools, the mutual relief societies and the institutes as they are fortifying the sociability of the place, increasing the urge to grow the community. All of these elements are well visible in the analysis of sports activities such as the establishment of the Circus Martesana, which will be resumed within the project, and the Society of Martyrs Canottieri. The theme chosen to revitalize these areas and make it the flagship of the real protagonist is that of a thermal system that can interact with a number of functions related to the history and community of the place. Not only the cult of water but also the meeting and socialization points are analyzed and studied through different references and historical or current cases. Finally, it describes the project by conceiving the typological and architectural characters of the individual designed buildings. The entire complex is also thought to be based on new attractive poles that characterize the axis of Naviglio della Martesana, giving it vitality and interaction between the whole and the parts.

Il Naviglio Martesana vuole essere concepito come un elemento progettuale e di connessione tra componenti differenti tra loro: diversi comuni di pertinenza, diversi salti di quota del terreno, diverse funzioni, diversi percorsi ma il tutto pensato per un’unica comunità, quella dell’antico borgo. Analizzando e citando la storia dei tre comuni di pertinenza – Gorla, Greco, Turro – ci si concentra maggiormente su quello di Gorla, in quanto è il comune di principale azione. Inizialmente si studiano gli aspetti che hanno portato alla formazione del borgo di Gorla e, successivamente, si approfondiscono le relazioni più ampie che intercorrono e cambiano i rapporti tra il naviglio e “la piccola Parigi”, un naviglio che trasforma il borgo, rendendolo più produttivo, più aperto socialmente ed economicamente e più protagonista di un disegno urbano. Posta su una terra di confine, Gorla è formata da differenti elementi architettonici e paesaggistici che interagiscono tra di loro e concedono alla comunità “liete mense e piacevoli sollazzi.” Fondamentali non sono solo i presidi e le isole di fede ma anche le scuole pubbliche, le società di mutuo soccorso e gli istituti in quanto vanno a fortificare la socialità stessa del luogo, incrementando la voglia di far crescere la comunità. Tutti questi elementi sono ben visibili anche nell’analisi delle attività sportive come l’istituzione del Circolo Martesana, il quale verrà ripreso all’interno del progetto, e la Società dei Canottieri Martesana. Il tema scelto è quello di un sistema termale che possa interagire con una serie di funzioni legate alla storia e alla comunità del luogo. Non solo il culto dell’acqua ma anche i punti di incontro e socializzazione vengono analizzati e studiati attraverso differenti riferimenti e casi storici o attuali. Infine, si descrive l’intervento concependone i caratteri tipologici ed architettonici dei singoli edifici progettati. L’intero complesso è stato pensato anche in funzione di nuovi poli attrattivi che caratterizzano l’asse del Naviglio della Martesana, conferendone vitalità e interazione tra il tutto e le parti
