The objective of the LTSI is to develop a new platform for the prediction and detection of the premature rupture of membrane (pPROM) in pregnant women, which often lead to fetus infection. Based upon their previous work on sepsis detection in premature newborn using heart rate variability, the objective of this publication is to show a new detector of heart beat based on the ultrasound system. The new detector filters and decomposes the ultrasound signal in time and frequency by means of FIR filters and Wavelet Transform. Then it uses a time frequency match filter to build a metric and detect the heart beat. Results performed on pregnant women show a real improvement respect to the already used detector.

Abstract
The objective of the LTSI is to develop a new platform for the prediction and detection of the premature rupture of membrane (pPROM) in pregnant women, which often lead to fetus infection. Based upon their previous work on sepsis detection in premature newborn using heart rate variability, the objective of this publication is to show a new detector of heart beat based on the ultrasound system. The new detector filters and decomposes the ultrasound signal in time and frequency by means of FIR filters and Wavelet Transform. Then it uses a time frequency match filter to build a metric and detect the heart beat. Results performed on pregnant women show a real improvement respect to the already used detector.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
