Abstract
Collagen is the prime structural protein in vertebrate biology, determining the mechanical behavior of connective tissues such as tendon, bone and skin. Despite extensive efforts to understand the origin of collagen unique mechanical properties, a deep comprehension of the relationship between molecular structure and mechanical properties remain elusive, hindered by the complex hierarchical composition of collagen-based tissues.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
