Berluti is a luxury leather good enterprise, rich of a more than century-old history. The redemption of the company by the LVMH group in 1993 allowed the firm to embrace a global dimension and renown. Thanks to new stores opening every year, Berluti is now present all around the world and continues dynamics of expansion. Such dynamics have implied a readjustment of the company’s strategy regarding the whole supply chain functioning, and this momentum is still in a solid pace today. What will interest us is the description of the company’s current supply chain, what are its challenges, objectives and criticalities. Eventually, a particular attention will be paid to the issues that Beluti encounters now, and those expected for a medium-long term future, and in which way they are or might be faced. The work thereafter presented is the result of an experience acquired from a six months internship period at Berluti’s manufacture in Ferrara, as a member of the production planning team. This privileged position offered a most comfortable point of view to tackle the subject of our interest. Production planning indeed is one of the core operations at stakes in the whole supply chain coordination.
Berluti è un leader mondiale nell’ambito dei prodotti di lusso in cuoio. L’acquisto dell’azienda da parte del gruppo LVMH nel 1993 le ha permesso di crescere e sviluppare una presenza internazionale ormai di primo piano. Questo elaborato si interessa particolarmente alle problematiche e criticità incontrate dalla supply chain di Berluti, dal punto di vista della pianificazione della produzione.
