The project of intervention at the Teatro Romano aims to propose a new structure to host a space for facilities for theatrical performances, such as box office, bar and dressing rooms; as well as internal and external walkways. These proposals would enhance the value of the ancient theatre, making its archaeological artefacts visible and recognisable. Hence the intention to give the theatre more visibility from the city – to which end the hill of San Pietro plays a well-defined role – and to reconsider the urban landscape which surrounds it. In particular, by enhancing the walls of the ancient supports through building paths and new openings below them creates new and functional spaces. These spaces are designed in such a manner as to also allow full enjoyment of the theatre’s archaeological areas during the summer’s theatrical season and they change the layout of the museum path which leads back to the recently restored archaeological museum. The design proposal is primarily a solution to improving the theatre’s entranceway, ticket office, restroom facilities and dining areas which are currently housed within containers inside a piazza belonging to the theatre, which is too small for purpose and located to the far left of the site, facing the Adige; through the insertion of a new building. In addition, to give the theatre greater visibility and to redefine its identity and visual impact within the urban landscape, the proposal starts with the clearing of the two lateral areas to the theatre and the redesign of the wall in in the system of terraces. An intervention that, without distorting existing volumes, wants to preserve the perception of this part of the city and to make more efficient use of what has left the past.

Abstract
An intervention that, without distorting existing volumes, wants to preserve the perception of this part of the city and to make more efficient use of what has left the past.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
