LED “Lighthouse Educational Dimension”: the recovery of a coastal lighthouse" is an idea born by imagining a new future for abandoned lighthouses, transforming them into unmatched tourist platforms that make it possible to preserve such an inestimable heritage. This project is inspired by the precious location and beauty of Capo Murro Lighthouse in Porco. The lighthouse is named after the Murro di Porco cliff, which stands out for its simplicity and charm, located south of Syracuse on the Maddalena peninsula, near the protected marine area of Plemmirio. The building, located in an area characterized by its brilliant and impressive appearance, is one of the main lighthouses of eastern Sicily as it is part of an old historical reference navigation system. This thesis follows the guidelines of "Valore Paesi FARI", a national project for the transformation of lighthouses into touristic facilities. Particular attention is paid to the existing regulatory framework for its preservation, due to the rare architectural and landscape quality of the lighthouse and its context. The aim of this thesis is the conversion of the property into a lighthouse accommodation, through the restoration of buildings where the transformation and conservation of the structures are integrated, as much as possible, with the already present materials, but also with cultural aspects such as heritage and history, taking into account the needs of perspective users as well as the available budget. the culture, while also taking into account the needs of the users and the resources available. The site will therefore represent the encounter between comform and artistic enjoyment, between comfort and entertainment; this is the creation of a reference point for tourism, a starting point for discovering the wonders of the area, for water sports and nature hikes, for contemplation and training programs, or simply to rest, making the marine element a source of relaxation.

LED “Lighthouse Educational Dimension”: recupero di un faro costiero è l’idea che nasce immaginando un nuovo futuro per i fari abbandonati, convertendoli in piattaforme turistiche ineguagliabili che rendano sostenibile la tutela e possibile la conservazione di un simile inestimabile patrimonio; idea, questa, animata dalla preziosa collocazione e pregevolezza della struttura del Faro di Capo Murro di Porco. La struttura prende nome dalla scogliera Murro di Porco sulla quale si innalza nella sua semplicità e nel suo fascino, situata a sud di Siracusa sulla penisola della Maddalena, in prossimità dell’Aerea Marina Protetta del Plemmirio. Il bene, sito in un’area che si caratterizza per il suo aspetto brullo e molto suggestivo, rappresenta uno dei principali fari marittimi della Sicilia orientale in quanto appartiene ad una complessa ed efficace rete storica di riferimento per la navigazione. Nella tesi viene sviluppato quello che è l’oggetto di “Valore Paese FARI”, progetto dello Stato Italiano per la trasformazione dei fari in strutture turistico-alberghiere, tenendo conto delle indicazioni nel suddetto bando riportate. Particolar riguardo è stato posto nel rispetto del sistema vincolistico, a motivo della rara qualità architettonica e paesistica espressa dal faro e dal proprio contesto. La valorizzazione del bene in Lighthouse Accomodation rappresenta l’obiettivo di questa tesi, attraverso il recupero edilizio dove trasformazione e conservazione delle strutture si integrano il più possibile nel rispetto dei già presenti aspetti materiali e fisici, ma anche immateriali come il significato, la storia e la cultura, tenendo inoltre presenti le esigenze dei fruitori e delle risorse disponibili. Il sito rappresenterà dunque l’incontro fra riposo e fruizione artistica, fra comfort ed intrattenimento; si tratta della realizzazione di un punto di riferimento per il turismo, di un punto di partenza per la scoperta delle meraviglie del territorio, per gli sport acquatici e le escursioni naturalistiche, per percorsi intellettuali e formativi o semplicemente di un punto di ristoro e riposo che sfrutti l’elemento marino come fonte di relax.
