How is nowadays menswear inspired by iconic garments, taking an example of bomber jackets

No matter how the fashion world changes, iconic garments will always keep a position in this industry. Mens fashion as one of the most important components and now it is given more possibilities. This thesis is based on also inspired by a course of Fashion Design Studio “Wardrobe’s Icon Garments”. I was interested in the topic of discovering the histories of those iconic garments and reinterpret them. In the thesis, some iconic garment cases and the bomber jacket’s history and societies background are studied. The aim of the research is to discover what is the link between the traditions and today’s design, which have worked as the references of desiging the collection. Iconic garments remained steadfast in any stylish, whatever the gender, age or the approaches to fashion. Not only that, but these fashion items continue to inspire and be reinterpreted by different brands every season. The bomber jackets has a lavish career in military and societies, and now it became an important item in fashion world. It has been developed into many types in order to satisfy various requirements during the war time, especially the the First and Second World War. The new perspective I want to give the bomber jacket is also the way how did I inspired by this icon garment. Designers need to find the inspirations and resources from various channels. The inspirations from histories or archives are always helpful to expand designer’s view.

Non importa come cambia il mondo della moda, i capi iconici manterranno sempre una posizione in questo settore. La moda maschile come uno dei componenti più importanti e ora è dato più possibilità. Questa tesi è basata anche sull'ispirazione di un corso di Fashion Design Studio "I Guardaroba I Guardaroba". Mi interessava l'argomento di scoprire le storie di quei capi iconici e reinterpretarli. Nella tesi sono stati studiati alcuni casi iconici di indumenti e lo sfondo della storia e delle società della giaccio bomber. Lo scopo della ricerca è quello di scoprire quale sia il legame tra le tradizioni e il design di oggi, che hanno lavorato come riferimenti di desiging la collezione.   Gli abiti iconici rimasero fermi in qualsiasi stile, qualunque sia il genere, l'età o gli approcci alla moda. Non solo, ma questi articoli di moda continuano a ispirare e essere reinterpretati da marche diverse ogni stagione. Le giacche bombardiere hanno una lunga carriera militare e sociale e ora è diventato un elemento importante nel mondo della moda. È stato sviluppato in molti tipi per soddisfare diverse esigenze durante il tempo della guerra, in particolare la prima e la seconda guerra mondiale. La nuova prospettiva che voglio dare la giacca bomber è anche il modo in cui ho ispirato da questo capo di icona. I progettisti devono trovare le ispirazioni e le risorse provenienti da vari canali. Le ispirazioni delle storie o degli archivi sono sempre utili per espandere la visione del designer.
