Innovation is positively correlated with firm performances through process and product improvements, and it represents nowadays a sustainable competitive advantage. However, it can be often only sourced by resorting to supplier capabilities and assets, as this moment is particularly characterized by the paradigm of Open Innovation. This aspect, together with the increasing amount of other activities which are outsourced externally, enhance the strategic relevance of some Purchasing processes such as supplier selection and evaluation. Thus, through a series of interviews with companies, our empirical work explores the existence of differences in the way the entire vendor rating process is implemented in the case the buyer is considering an innovative supplier. Our research provides key findings with respect to different phases of the process lifecycle (design, implementation and use) and they are then partially correlated to different explanatory drivers we have identified in a second part of the work.

Abstract
Our research provides key findings with respect to different phases of the process lifecycle (design, implementation and use) and they are then partially correlated to different explanatory drivers we have identified in a second part of the work.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
