This thesis aims to assess the impact that the most innovative technological solutions are having on the Talent Scouting process within professional sports clubs. After a detailed mapping and analysis of all Talent Scouting technology solutions, it was possible to classify them on the base of several factors, such as the degree of technological innovation, the spread and adoption of the technology on the market, its future potential and the obtainable benefits. The literature analysis has allowed us to investigate the theories and models that underlie the theme of the sport talent identification and selection. This analysis has also been crucial in identifying the Talent Scout professional figure, which is the meeting point between the technologies on the market and professional sports clubs. The Talent Scout turns out to be the true user of technology products designed for Talent Scouting. This figure is devoted entirely to the research and evaluation of sports talent, although the operating modes and the reference geographic area will vary according to the specific Talent Scouting typology. Therefore, the relationship between the level of technological innovation of the offered products and the specific typology of Talent Scouting has been identified as crucial for the analysis of research. After noticing the absence of a structured model analisying this relationship, an original model was created specifically to fill this space in the literature. Through this model, the most important elements emerged during the analysis of literature were re-analysed, drawing a new classification of Talent Scout. In order to enrich the discussion also from an empirical point of view, 9 case studies were proposed, including both the sports clubs (Talent Scouts and Sports Managers) as well as the providers of technology solutions. To give a quantitative weight to the empirical analysis, an original database was created consisting of the responses of 101 sport observers specifically contacted to contribute to this research work. The result of the empirical analysis was then compared to what emerged from the original model and the first part of literature analysis. Finally, from this comparison it was possible to trace the path that the current Talent Scouting is pushing on the path of digital innovation to new forms and methodologies of Digital Talent Scouting.
