The main goal of this thesis is to understand the implementation of Lean Startup in startups and traditional companies, in Serbia and Macedonia. To achieve this, a literature review was performed in order to obtain better insight into the implementation of Lean Startup in developed countries and economies, which served as a basis for further research and analysis on its implementation in Serbia and Macedonia. Methods that are helpful in implementing the Lean Startup were identified and explained how they ease the process of implementation, statistical data showing the impacts of Lean Startup on companies successfulness were obtained from national agencies and private companies was gathered and a set of drawbacks was identified as well. As the research transitioned from developed to developing countries, the literature showed a knowledge gap on best practices, impacts and effects of implementing Lean Startup in startups and traditional companies in these two countries, hence it was decided a survey will be performed, which would serve as a guideline in better understanding the extent to which this method was implemented and how these companies have benefited from its implementation. The survey consisted of eight quantitative questions using a Likert scale that measured the extent of implementation for each method that was deemed helpful for the Lean Startup implementation during the literature review, and two qualitative open-ended questions which objective was to provide a better understanding of the impacts and effects Lean Startup implementation had on these companies. A sample of fifty traditional companies and fifty startups were used in this survey, in order to yield more balanced and objective results. The results showed satisfactory results, a relatively high number of both startups and traditional companies have already implemented Lean Startup completely, or at least partially in their daily operations, and some the impacts and effects of it were easily recognizable, such as the growth in market share and increase in revenue. Yet, there was still a chance for further improvement of the implementation, especially considering the low results some of the methods that were deemed as very helpful by the literature scored. In the end, the conclusions and limitations of this report were summarized, and further works were proposed, based on the results obtained during the survey.
