The idea that embodies the essence of the thesis project is the theme connected to the extraordinary ability of architecture to build something that goes beyond the matter of which it is itself is constituted. Architecture is the art of building space, to construct its atmospheres and by virtue of them move and awaken emotions in its user. The same emotions that they engage the mechanisms of memory. The intent of this work was that to understand the scenic and compositional mechanisms with which architecture is able to transmit through its language (form, light, matter) a precise emotion also in the places of everyday life. It is the emotion that drives within the space, it has the ability to make a place unforgettable, fix a memory and above all make it effective communication of a meaning. At Temple for Hilma it was the perfect thesis excuse. The emotional mechanisms that arise within a museum dedicated to the memory of a missing artist, they approach much to the atmospheres that you breathe inside a place of worship, among the strongest that a place can generate in us. Not at random we speak of "cult for art". The goal of the project is to operate through the art of space and put themselves at the service of an art form deeply connected, with the following awareness: if from a framework it is possible to escape, it is not possible to escape from architecture. The architectural design for art fits in the middle of two attitudes: to treat architecture as silent container of objects, and treat architecture as a protagonist stage of the spatial and artistic event. Architecture has the task of weaving the right balance, establishing an empathic dialogue, made of connections and recalls with the art hosted and of which the architecture will become as a custom-made dress, incompatible with any other event. Architecture takes an elegant step back to the content, acting as a careful director of an event in which the visitor becomes the real protagonist of all this orchestration, whose ranks are maneuvered architecture. Taking into account the geographical and cultural context of reference, as well as problems of a technical nature architectural discipline must know how to foresee, the end of project will be the construction of spaces for the artistic event, a new Temple for the art of Hilma af Klint.
L’idea che racchiude l’essenza del progetto di tesi è il tema connesso alla straordinaria capacità dell’architettura di costruire qualcosa che vada al di là della materia di cui essa stessa si costituisce. L’architettura è l’arte di costruire lo spazio, di costruirne le atmosfere ed in virtù di esse smuovere e risvegliare emozioni nel suo fruitore. Le stesse emozioni che innestano i meccanismi del ricordo. L’intento di questo lavoro è stato quello di comprendere i meccanismi scenici e compositivi con cui l’architettura è in grado di trasmettere attraverso il suo linguaggio (forma, luce, materia) un’emozione precisa anche nei luoghi della vita di tutti i giorni. È l’emozione che guida all’interno dello spazio, essa ha la capacità di rendere un luogo indimenticabile, fissarne un ricordo e soprattutto rendere efficace la comunicazione di un significato. A Temple for Hilma è stato i pretesto di tesi perfetto. I meccanismi emotivi che nascono all’interno di un museo dedicato al ricordo di un’artista scomparso, si avvicinano molto alle atmosfere che si respirano all’interno di un luogo di culto, tra le più forti che un luogo può generare in noi. Non a caso si parla di “culto per l’arte”. L’obiettivo del progetto è operare attraverso l’arte dello spazio e mettersi a servizio di una forma d’arte profondamente connessa, con la seguente consapevolezza: se da un quadro è possibile sottrarsi, non è possibile sottrarsi all’architettura. Il progetto d’architettura per l’arte si inserisce nel mezzo di due atteggiamenti: trattare l’architettura come silenzioso contenitore di oggetti, e trattare l’architettura come protagonista scenica dell’evento spaziale ed artistico. L’architettura ha il compito di tessere il giusto equilibrio, instaurando un dialogo empatico, fatto di connessioni e richiami con l’arte ospitata e di cui l’architettura diverrà come un vestito confezionato su misura, incompatibile con qualunque altro evento. L’architettura compie un elegante passo indietro rispetto al contenuto, agendo come attenta regista di un evento in cui il visitatore diventa il reale protagonista di tutta questa orchestrazione, le cui fila sono manovrate dell’architettura. Tenendo conto del contesto geografico e culturale di riferimento, nonché dei problemi di natura tecnica che la disciplina architettonica deve sapere prevedere, il fine del progetto sarà la costruzione degli spazi per l’evento artistico, un nuovo Tempio per l’arte di Hilma af Klint.
