Suturing in deep surgical field is a really complex procedure. Nowadays, commercially available sutures are made of polymeric or natural materials. These shows a high operator-dependency, strictly linked to the number of nodes and surgeon dexterity, which play an important role in the success of the surgery. So a NiTinol device which is able to automatically close was designed; this can limit the contraindications of the commercially available sutures. The objective of this work is to systematically reproduce the forming procedure. Moreover a thermo-mechanical characterization of the device is given and finally some finite elements simulations are conducted to be compared to the experimental findings. From these a further optimization study on the device geometry could start.

Abstract
From these a further optimization study on the device geometry could start.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
