The thesis project is about optimization of Organic Rankin Cycles, with the aim of finding the best working fluid. A number of different cases were considered: geothermal power production and CHP at different temperatures, and a heat recovery case applied to a waste heat coming from the flue gases of an aluminum manufacturing plant. Both pure fluids and mixtures were considered for the study. Aim of the research is to compare the performances obtained with cycles running in the same boundary conditions, but with different working fluids. Besides comparing the results obtained with pure fluids and mixtures, relationship between fluid properties and cycle performances was tried to be found.

Abstract
The thesis project is about optimization of Organic Rankin Cycles, with the aim of finding the best working fluid. A number of different cases were considered: geothermal power production and CHP at different temperatures, and a heat recovery case applied to a waste heat coming from the flue gases of an aluminum manufacturing plant. Both pure fluids and mixtures were considered for the study. Aim of the research is to compare the performances obtained with cycles running in the same boundary conditions, but with different working fluids. Besides comparing the results obtained with pure fluids and mixtures, relationship between fluid properties and cycle performances was tried to be found.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
