This thesis is about the seismic response in different types of historical masonry buildings, located in Italy. The first part of the work concerned with the graphic rendering and with the study of the geometry and material of each structure. Subsequently, finite element models were developed using Abaqus software, with which nonlinear dynamic analyzes were performed with accelerograms in which the actual behavior of the masonry was considered. The analyzes made it possible to compare the numerical results with the actual damage suffered by eight minor churches during the recent earthquakes that occurred in Abruzzo. For the other churches and buildings studied, were considered different values of peak acceleration in order to predict damage distribution and maximum displacements. Finally, the critical elements for each type of structure considered were identified.

Abstract
Finally, the critical elements for each type of structure considered were identified.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
