Maternal Mortality Rate in Indonesia is high. It was caused by a lack of access to knowledge, education, information, and also the qualities of the health service. Furthermore, the differences in the economic ability of people and the absence of infrastructure in some areas are the aspects to take into consideration. The same condition also occurred in children’s health sector. Even though the number of child mortality has been decreasing, it still has another problem such as malnutrition, low birth weight, and pneumonia. Indonesia has a community-based health care called Posyandu, a monthly clinic for pregnant women and children run by volunteers that provides health information, vaccinations, and nutritional supplements. The volunteers, also known as cadre, become the core of the service as they are collecting the data of mother and children health in the community. The data is essential in making of preventive and curative health service. The thesis aims to design a service system to improve the Posyandu service and raise awareness in the community by increasing the quality of the cadres. Based on the partnership with the government, designing the service that provides education to the volunteers and tools to simplify the data collection is needed because the cadres need to have skill and knowledge to give accurate and reliable information to the mother and family. This project also tries to create the network of Posyandu in Indonesia and offers Posyandu and its cadre visibility of their work.

Il tasso di mortalità materna in Indonesia è alto. È stato causato da una mancanza di accesso alla conoscenza, all’educazione, all’informazione e anche alle qualità del servizio sanitario. Inoltre, le differenze nella capacità economica delle persone e l’assenza d’infrastrutture in alcune aree sono gli aspetti da tenere in considerazione. Le stesse condizioni si sono verificate anche nel settore della salute infantile. Anche se il tasso di mortalità infantile è diminuito, è ancora presente il problema della malnutrizione. L’Indonesia ha un’assistenza sanitaria basata sulla comunità chiamata Posyandu, una clinica mensile per donne incinte e bambini gestita da volontari che fornisce informazioni sanitarie, vaccinazioni ed integratori alimentari. I volontari, noti anche come quadri, diventano il nucleo del servizio poiche’ raccolgono i dati sulla salute di madre e figli nella comunità. I dati sono fondamentali per la realizzazione di servizi sanitari preventivi e curativi. La tesi mira a progettare un sistema di servizi per migliorare il servizio Posyandu e aumentare la consapevolezza nella comunità aumentando la qualità dei quadri. Sulla base della partnership con il governo, è necessario progettare il servizio che fornisce istruzione ai volontari e strumenti per semplificare la raccolta dei dati. I quadri devono avere abilità e conoscenza per fornire informazioni accurate e affidabili alla madre e alla famiglia. Questo progetto cerca anche di creare la rete di Posyandu in Indonesia e offre a Posyandu e ai suoi quadri visibilità sul loro lavoro.
