Poli-theama

The Politeama Verdi, a theater built in the heart of the city of Cremona that is configured as a contamination space, understood in a social sense, for its being born as a popular theater "for all", as well as spatial for the eclecticism of the functional compositional elements to the creation of a versatile space suitable for the representation of different kinds of representations. In 1969 the Politeama was definitively closed to the public and part of the galleries were occupied by apartments. The project starts from the observation of an emptiness, first of all spatial, the empty earth-sky of the pit remained incomplete is a hidden and invisible urban space. An empty-power that speaks of something that was, that had to be other than today is not. If it is true that a ruin is what remains of a building, this space assumes rather the connotations of an "unfinished", what remains of a project accomplished and realized only partially, a power of form. The look is large-scale and takes into consideration the theme of the presence of urban spaces in the city that make up the walkable ground, the free spaces usable by people to whom the project aims to add itself with the aim of stimulating a reflection on rediscovery and reactivation of all abandoned buildings. The design actions implemented interact with the ground and the sky, in the gestures of opening and extension, of flow and outflow, of permeability and collection, of particle size and thickness, of color and consistency. The ruin character that the building possesses is nothing but a spectacle of time in its different depths, a human time and a vegetable and natural time that intersect. Poli-théama, therefore, as a space in which the "many" - "shows" unfold, where the representations of nature change creating ever-changing, never-changing scenarios. Nature becomes part of the project through the reading of the very close relationship that the city has with the river Po, with its beaches, its banks, its banks and its floods.

Il Politeama Verdi, un teatro costruito nel cuore della città di Cremona che si configura come spazio della contaminazione, intesa in senso sociale, per il suo essere nato come teatro popolare “per tutti”, oltre che spaziale per l’eclettismo degli elementi compositivi funzionali alla creazione di uno spazio versatile adatto alla rappresentazione di diversi generi. Nel 1969 il Politeama viene chiuso definitivamente al pubblico e parte delle gallerie vengono occupate da appartamenti. Il progetto parte dalla constatazione di un vuoto innanzitutto spaziale, il vuoto terra-cielo della platea rimasto incompleto è uno spazio urbano nascosto e invisibile. Un vuoto-potenza che parla di qualcosa che era, che doveva essere altro che oggi non è. Se è vero che una rovina è ciò che rimane di un edificio, questo spazio assume piuttosto i connotati di un “non finito”, ciò che rimane di un progetto compiuto e realizzato solo in parte, una potenza di forma. Lo sguardo è a grande scala e prende in considerazione il tema della presenza di spazi urbani nella città che costituiscono il suolo calpestabile, gli spazi liberi e fruibili dalle persone a cui il progetto mira ad aggiungersi con l’obiettivo di stimolare una riflessione sulla riscoperta e riattivazione di tutti gli edifici dismessi. Le azioni progettuali messe in atto interagiscono con il suolo e con il cielo, nei gesti di apertura e di prolungamento, di flusso e deflusso, di permeabilità e raccolta, di granulometria e spessore, di colore e consistenza. Il carattere di rovina che l’edificio possiede non è altro che uno spettacolo del tempo nelle sue diverse profondità, un tempo umano ed un tempo vegetale e naturale che si incrociano. Poli-théama, quindi, come spazio in cui i “molti” – “spettacoli” si dispiegano, dove le rappresentazioni della natura cambiano creando scenari mutevoli, mai uguali. La natura entra a far parte del progetto attraverso la lettura del rapporto molto stretto che la città possiede con il fiume Po, con i suoi spiaggioni, le sue sponde, suoi argini e le sue piene.
