The last horizon

Landscapes in extreme conditions are commonly providers of resources for distant urbanized areas for which they might be barely visible. The extraction activities in these areas during the last century have left environmental and social impacts by ignoring their natural conformation, identity and tradition that have been present for centuries. The project aims to explore the border line that conform dry-coastal landscapes, the line where the natural and human forces that shape the landscape are visible, and therefore the broken connections to be repaired. This line is “the last horizon”, the line to be restored by recognizing and enhancing its identity, values and the reinterpretation of traditional techniques, in order to reestablish the state of relationship between the landscape, architecture and community. I paesaggi in condizioni estreme sono comunemente fornitori di risorse per aree urbane lontane per le quali potrebbero essere a malapena visibili. Le attività estrattive in queste aree nel corso dell'ultimo secolo hanno lasciato impatti ambientali e sociali ignorando la loro conformazione naturale, l'identità e la tradizione che sono state presenti per secoli. Il progetto mira a esplorare la linea di confine che conforma i paesaggi costieri-desertici, la linea in cui sono visibili le forze naturali e umane che modellano il paesaggio, e quindi i collegamenti interrotti da riparare. Questa linea è "l'ultimo orizzonte", la linea da restaurare riconoscendo e valorizzando la propria identità, i valori e la reinterpretazione delle tecniche tradizionali, al fine di ristabilire lo stato di relazione tra paesaggio, architettura e comunità.
