Block 39: Centre for the promotion of Science, was an architecture and urban design competition, 2011, promoted by ministry of Science and Technology, Serbia. The project located in New Belgrade, is aimed to serve as an inspiring national and global enclave of knowledge in the field of science. Its goal is to facilitate scientific education, a continuous scholarship along with social and economic growth. It is aimed to inspire dialogue, curiosity and pursuit of scientific knowledge as a career choice within young people while developing a rational and responsible approach towards living. The study presents urban design using IMM methodology as a tool for improving the energy performance of new Belgrade. It presents the architectural and engineering design of the “Center for the promotion of Science”, following an integrated approach between the disciplines of urban design, architecture design, and engineering disciplines while simultaneously optimizing various design processes in each discipline. It presents a lateral approach in designing process between the aforementioned disciplines, using retrofitting and modification as tools for achieving efficient design outcomes across various aspects of design like ambiance, aesthetic, mobility, services, structural stability, energy optimization, minimization of duct losses etc. Critically examining and eliminating the bottle necks to achieve seamless, coherent and efficient functioning of each building system that significantly improves the performance of building. The study presents specific technological strategies and innovative designing for achieving 2030 energy benchmark The final results of this study include: an optimized and an energy efficient design for the city of New Belgrade including also a new green lung; an optimized and efficient Block 39 master plan; architecture design with an optimized technological and engineered building design for a sustainable " Centre For The Promotion Of Science".
Block 39: Centro per la promozione della scienza, è stato un concorso di architettura e progettazione urbana, 2011, promosso dal ministero di Scienza e Tecnologia, Serbia. Il progetto, situato a New Belgrade, ha lo scopo di fungere da stimolante enclave nazionale e globale di conoscenza nel campo della scienza. Il suo obiettivo è quello di facilitare l'educazione scientifica, una continua borsa di studio insieme alla crescita sociale ed economica. Ha lo scopo di ispirare il dialogo, la curiosità e il perseguimento del sapere scientifico come una scelta di carriera all'interno dei giovani, sviluppando nel contempo un approccio razionale e responsabile verso la vita. Lo studio presenta il design urbano utilizzando la metodologia IMM come strumento per migliorare le prestazioni energetiche della nuova Belgrado. Presenta la progettazione architettonica e ingegneristica del "Centro per la promozione della scienza", seguendo un approccio integrato tra le discipline del design urbano, dell'architettura e delle discipline ingegneristiche, ottimizzando contemporaneamente i vari processi di progettazione in ogni disciplina. Presenta un approccio laterale nel processo di progettazione tra le suddette discipline, utilizzando il retrofitting e la modifica come strumenti per ottenere risultati di progettazione efficienti attraverso vari aspetti del design come l'ambiente, l'estetica, la mobilità, i servizi, la stabilità strutturale, l'ottimizzazione energetica, la minimizzazione delle perdite dei condotti ecc. Esaminare ed eliminare criticamente i colli di bottiglia per ottenere un funzionamento continuo, coerente ed efficiente di ciascun sistema di costruzione che migliori significativamente le prestazioni dell'edificio. Lo studio presenta specifiche strategie tecnologiche e progettazione innovativa per raggiungere il punto di riferimento energetico 2030 I risultati finali di questo studio includono: un design ottimizzato ed efficiente dal punto di vista energetico per la città di New Belgrade includendo anche un nuovo polmone verde; un piano generale Block 39 ottimizzato ed efficiente; progettazione architettonica con un design tecnologico ottimizzato e progettazione di edifici ingegnerizzati per un "Centro per la promozione della scienza" sostenibile.
