ABSTRACT Every operation in a modern organization relies heavily on timely and accurate information to survive in today’s competitive market. In fact, Information System serves as the life-line to the organizations, no decision can be taken without information and thus the organizations are using Enterprise Resource Planning Software (ERP) for gaining competitive edge over their competitors. Technology is developing very fast, it opens new possibilities, but at the same time it might create many obstacles for a company. Enterprise resource planning was a breakthrough innovation, which lead to improvement in a core of business process. ERP is a business management tool used to improve and ease business performance. Research shows that an IT system, specifically Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, provides the necessary foundation for increased visibility leading to better control as well as the effective and efficient management of internal and external facility operations (Chapman & Kihn, 2009). A well-managed ERP can be a determinant of strategic competitive advantage as they can automate and integrate a variety of business processes, provide support for the usage of best practices, and share common real-time data throughout the organization. This thesis represents about enterprise resource planning such as definition, functions, modules and impact of ERP implementation on the company. Furthermore, it describes the employee reaction on changes, and it is supported with examples. Hence this report deals with • Success factors of ERP implementation in the company. • Organizations adaptability to the change • After effects in implementation • Risks and opportunities to improve.
ASTRATTO Ogni operazione in un'organizzazione moderna dipende in gran parte da informazioni tempestive e accurate per sopravvivere nel mercato competitivo di oggi. In effetti, il sistema informativo funge da linea di vita per le organizzazioni, nessuna decisione può essere presa senza informazioni e quindi le organizzazioni utilizzano il software ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning Software) per ottenere un vantaggio competitivo rispetto ai concorrenti. La tecnologia si sta sviluppando molto velocemente, apre nuove possibilità, ma allo stesso tempo potrebbe creare molti ostacoli per un'azienda. La pianificazione delle risorse aziendali è stata un'innovazione rivoluzionaria, che ha portato a un miglioramento in un nucleo del processo aziendale. ERP è uno strumento di gestione aziendale utilizzato per migliorare e facilitare le prestazioni aziendali. La ricerca mostra che un sistema IT, in particolare i sistemi ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), fornisce le basi necessarie per una maggiore visibilità che porta a un controllo migliore e una gestione efficace ed efficiente delle operazioni interne ed esterne (Chapman & Kihn, 2009). Un ERP ben gestito può essere un fattore determinante del vantaggio competitivo strategico in quanto è in grado di automatizzare e integrare una varietà di processi aziendali, fornire supporto per l'utilizzo delle migliori pratiche e condividere dati comuni in tempo reale in tutta l'organizzazione. Questa tesi rappresenta la pianificazione delle risorse aziendali come la definizione, le funzioni, i moduli e l'impatto dell'implementazione ERP sull'azienda. Inoltre, descrive la reazione dei dipendenti sulle modifiche ed è supportato con esempi.
