The paper studies the state of the art and the financing trends of startups operating in the "Internet of Things" sector. The thesis initially defines the context, the technologies and the application fields of the Internet of Things and the startups. Then the objectives are explained, or answer the following questions: what is the state of the art and what are the trends of the Internet of Things startups? The answer is elaborated through an in-depth study and careful review of the literature together with the use of an Internet of Things startup database initially developed by the Internet of Things Observatory of the Politecnico of Milan.
L’elaborato studia lo stato dell’arte e i trend dei finanziamenti delle startup che operano nel settore “Internet of Things”. La tesi definisce inizialmente il contesto, le tecnologie e gli ambiti applicativi costituenti dell’Internet of Things e le startup. Successivamente gli obiettivi sono spiegati, ovvero rispondere alle seguenti domande: qual è lo stato dell’arte e quali sono i trend delle startup Internet of Things? La risposta viene elaborata tramite uno studio approfondito e un’attenta revisione della letteratura assieme all’utilizzo di un database di startup Internet of Things sviluppato inizialmente dall’Osservatorio Internet of Things del Politecnico di Milano.
