Purpose Thanks to an increasing landscape of actors offering different solutions and to the availability of more advanced ICT systems which reduce the operational costs of more traditional solutions, the adoption of supply chain finance is gaining traction. In this context, the purpose of this thesis is to focus on the adoption process identifying the factors that have an impact on its success. Design/methodology/approach The research work has been developed following a single case study approach. The case study focused on the adoption of supply chain finance solutions by a multinational pharmaceutical company has been analysed in depth, leveraging on a relevant amount of data gathered through seven interviews with both internal and external stakeholders. Main findings A total of nine adoption factors that can influence the adoption process leading towards its success or unsuccess are identified. The identified adoption factors are classified in three influence areas (company related factors, project related factors, and ICT systems related factors) which constitute the adoption framework. In addition, also how the organisational context, in its turn, affects the adoption factors and the choice of the supply chain finance solution has been investigated. Research limitations/implications This work is affected by two limitations. Firstly, the implementation phase has been only marginally analysed because never reached due to an unsuccessful project. Secondly, taking into consideration only one case study does not allow a generalisation of the findings of this thesis. Further research is needed in order to find additional supporting evidence to the results of the work.

Abstract
Further research is needed in order to find additional supporting evidence to the results of the work.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
