In this thesis it is presented 3D-printed triaxial capacitive accelerometer, from the design phase to the fabrication and analysis phase. In the first chapters, various types of 3D printing techniques are considered, followed by a description of accelerometers, capacitive ones specifically. It is then described the design of the accelerometer and the many versions developed and improved, the printing process of the final geometry and the copper coating. The conclusion regards the modal analysis, the behaviour of the device at varying temperature, the consequences of thermal deformation on the normal frequencies of oscillation, cross-capacitance calculation and the analysis of the consequences due to coating inaccuracies.

Abstract
In this thesis it is presented 3D-printed triaxial capacitive accelerometer, from the design phase to the fabrication and analysis phase. In the first chapters, various types of 3D printing techniques are considered, followed by a description of accelerometers, capacitive ones specifically. It is then described the design of the accelerometer and the many versions developed and improved, the printing process of the final geometry and the copper coating. The conclusion regards the modal analysis, the behaviour of the device at varying temperature, the consequences of thermal deformation on the normal frequencies of oscillation, cross-capacitance calculation and the analysis of the consequences due to coating inaccuracies.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
