Abstract
It all started from Japanese 3Ms (MUDA, MURI, MURA). Lean manufacturing or lean production, sometimes simply "lean", is a systematic method for waste minimization ("Muda") within a manufacturing system without compromising its productivity. Lean also takes into account waste created through overburden ("Muri") and waste created through unevenness in workloads ("Mura"). In Simple ways we can say, any action or process which are not adding values to our nal product or service is a waste. Traditional Toyota tools were value stream mapping (VSM), cellular manufacturing, Kanban, 5S and Kaizen. However, nowadays major strategic components of lean such as management commitment, employ autonomy, information transparency and cultural t are introduced to make the work culture more e ective and strong. Using these tools, these companies have escaped from a crisis to a one of a leading market in the world. In automobile sector: Porsche AG, John Deere, Caterpillar Inc, Harley-Davidson Inc. Moreover, as Toyota Motor Corporation and Ford Motor Company are the foundation of the LEAN so we have also included these with other four major companies with their e ective lean strategies and its comparison. In Textile sector: Louis Vuitton Malletier, Zara(Retail), Nike Inc. In Aviation/Aerospace Sector: AgustaWestland (Leonardo Helicopters), Airbus SE, The Boeing Company, Textron Inc.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
