In this thesis the kinematic analysis of the transmission system of the Gearbox Prototype model known as Ratiozero was developed. This gearbox has a continuously variable transmission system and the kinematic analysis has involved a mathematical model to describe its mechanism in terms of position, velocity and acceleration. Moreover, a simulation of the mechanism motion was executed in a program using MATLAB in which some parameters such as link’s dimensions and rotatability conditions for elements were done. Two approaches were applied to find out the solutions, the first one corresponds to Newton-Euler equations of motion while the second was performed applying the concept of instantaneous centre of rotation. The model can be used to predict possible operational working conditions of the gearbox and select ranges for gear ratios and output velocities. Based on this investigation further design analysis related to operational points, forces and power of the gearbox can be developed to realize applications where torque and velocity can be matched properly.
In questa tesi è stata sviluppata l'analisi cinematica del sistema di trasmissione del prototipo Gearbox denominato Ratiozero. Questo cambio funziona con un sistema di trasmissione a variazione continua e la sua analisi ha coinvolto un modello matematico per descrivere la sua posizione, velocità e accelerazione. Inoltre, una simulazione del movimento è stata eseguita in un programma usando MATLAB. Inoltre, durante l'analisi è stato necessario identificare i parametri e le dimensioni del meccanismo per raggiungere la condizione di rotabilità. Sono stati applicati due approcci per scoprire le soluzioni, la prima corrisponde alle equazioni di moto di Newton-Eulero mentre la seconda è stata eseguita applicando il concetto di centro di rotazione istantaneo. Le dimensioni determinate per il meccanismo possono essere utilizzate per prevedere le condizioni operative di lavoro del riduttore e selezionare i range per rapporti di trasmissione e velocità di uscita. Sulla base di questa indagine è possibile effettuare ulteriori analisi relative a punti operativi, forze e potenza del riduttore per realizzare applicazioni in cui coppia e velocità possono essere abbinate correttamente.
