Progetto di un teatro sperimentale per la Scala di Milano nell'area Expo

The project wants to give an answer to the request of Teatro alla Scala to have a new headquarters for its laboratories. The expo area is the best place to bring the 75k m2 of warehouses and laboratories and to have the best planning for the Accademia. This technological hub will be implemented with an experimental Theatre for the students where they can make their performances in a modern and cozy environment. ^3T Theatre wants to be a performance place that shall never say no and can become a cultural hub for theatre companies all around the world. For this reason we design three different theatre rooms that can meet the most diverse artistic needs and capacity of viewers. The project is developed as a hypogeum space, that can be guessed but not knowing immediately. Two polycarbonate volume host the theatre; they hide, like a photographic image, an idea of ​​interiority. The volumes of the theatre itself want to be the core of the space, and the other functions work as a cornice to exalt the centre of the scene. The viewers proceed from the entrance to the theatral show in a route that goes through different space situation, from wide double height spaces to small cavities in the ground. In a lower level there is the direct connection with the nearby laboratories, in order to bring the scenography directly on the scenes, and all the functions to support the preparation of the shows.

Il progetto vuole dare risposta alla richiesta del Teatro alla Scala di avere un nuovo polo per i propri laboratori. L'area expo è il luogo migliore per trasferire i 75 km2 di depositi e laboratori e per pianificare le attività dell'Accademia. Questo polo tecnologico viene implementato con un teatro sperimentale per gli studenti, nel quale potranno esibirsi in un ambiente moderno e confortevole. ^3T vuole essere un luogo di spettacolo che "non deve mai dire no" e può diventare un centro culturale per compagnie teatrali da tutto il mondo. Per questa ragione sono state progettate tre sale teatrali che possano venire incontro alle più variegate esigenze artistiche e numero di spettatori. Il progetto è sviluppato come uno spazio ipogeo, che può essere percepito, ma scoperto nell'immediato. Due volumi di policarbonato ospitano le sale, nascondendo come una fotografia, un'idea di interiorità. I volumi delle sale vogliono essere il nucleo dello spazio, mentre le altre funzioni lavorano come una cornice per esaltare il centor della scena. Gli spettatori procedono dall'ingresso fino allo spettacolo tramite un percorso che attraversa diverse situazioni spaziali: da spazi a doppia altezza fino a piccole cavità nel terreno. In un livello sotterraneo si sviluppa la connessione diretta con i laboratori vicini, in modo da portare le scenografie direttamente sul palco, e con tutte le funzioni a supporto dello spettacolo.
