Museo dell'acqua : un approdo sulla Senna per la valle degli impressionisti

The theme of the thesis is based on the international architecture competition "Reinventer la Seine", which aims to propose new ways of living and perceiving the space in three cities that are located in the Seine valley: Le Havre, Rouen and Paris. The competition suggests 41 relevant sites as a starting point for innovative solutions, to try to devise new relationships between the river and the neighboring cities. This thesis analyzes three sites proposed by the competition, each one located in the three different cities, and aims to increase the nodal role of the Seine as a cultural and tourist hub. The project proposal is therefore to use water as a connecting element between the city and a museum dedicated to modern art in the urban context, suggesting the idea that an exhibition landing project can enhance and enhance the artistic and cultural heritage of a place. Through the design of architectural signs in the landscape, which were transformed into connections between the river and the city, the area located in Rouen was further investigated, further from the position of the three museums dedicated to Impressionism analyzed. The thesis proposes the design of a new landing site featuring a water museum, for temporary and anticipatory exhibitions of the Rouen Museum of Fine Arts, and as a tourist attraction. The water of the Seine then becomes an element of appreciation of the identity of the place, constituting a new relationship between the planned museum and the existing museum. In the first chapters of the book is described the Valley of the Seine and its relations with the three cities proposed by the competition. Subsequently, the characteristics of the Seine are analyzed in order to anticipate the objectives of the competition analyzed and to explain the connection with the impressionist current, the main theme of this thesis. Finally, there is a brief comparison between the three modern museums analyzed, where the close relationship between their exposed content emerges, but their distinct difference as containers. The last part is dedicated to the description of the project, illustrating the basic idea, the exhibition spaces, the routes and the references used for the design of this Museum on the Seine.

Il tema della tesi pone le sue basi sul concorso internazionale di architettura intitolato “Reinventer la Seine”, il quale ha l’obiettivo di proporre nuovi modi di vivere e percepire lo spazio in tre città che si trovano nella valle della Senna: Le Havre, Rouen e Parigi. La competizione suggerisce 41 siti rilevanti come spunto di soluzioni innovative, per cercare di ideare nuove relazioni tra il fiume e le città limitrofe. Questa tesi prende in analisi tre siti proposti dal concorso, ognuno situato nelle tre differenti città, e si pone come obiettivo l’accrescimento del ruolo nodale della Senna come fulcro culturale e turistico. La proposta progettuale è di utilizzare quindi l’acqua come elemento di collegamento tra la città e un museo dedicato all’arte moderna presente nel contesto urbano, suggerendo l’idea che un progetto di approdo espositivo possa accrescere e risaltare il patrimonio artistico-culturale di un luogo. Attraverso l’ideazione di segni architettonici nel paesaggio, che si sono trasformati in connessioni tra fiume e città, si è poi approfondito l’area situato a Rouen, più distante rispetto alla posizione dei tre musei dedicati all’impressionismo analizzati. La tesi propone il progetto di un nuovo approdo caratterizzato da un museo dell’acqua, per esposizioni temporanee e anticipatorie del museo delle Belle Arti di Rouen, e come polo d’attrazione turistico. L’acqua della Senna diventa quindi elemento di valorizzazione dell’identità del luogo, costituendo una ¬nuova relazione tra museo progettato e museo esistente. Nei primi capitoli del book viene descritta la Valle della Senna e le sue relazioni con le tre città proposte dal concorso. Successivamente vengono approfondite le caratteristiche della Senna per anticipare gli obiettivi del concorso preso in analisi e per spiegare il collegamento con la corrente impressionista, filo conduttore di questa tesi. Infine, vi è una breve confronto tra i tre musei moderni analizzati, dove emerge la stretta relazione tra il loro contenuto esposto, ma la loro netta differenza come contenitori. L’ultima parte viene dedicata alla descrizione del progetto, illustrando l’idea di base, gli spazi espositivi, i percorsi e i riferimenti utilizzati per la progettazione di questo Museo sulla Senna.
