Abstract
The Italian Alpine arc is dotted with settlements and buildings of ancient and now disappeared rural traditions. Abandoned buildings and mountain landscapes are today fragile contexts, threatened by ruin and by low general interest in their reuse. In some cases abandonment and isolation of small mountain villages, which since post WWII period have undergone a progressive and unstoppable process of depopulation, have paradoxically preserved this heritage from incongruous transformations. The thesis explores the theme of new widespread tourism, a rapidly growing reality that has already been widely tested across the Alps. New categories of users are ready to populate the mountain territory and traditional buildings, in the name of sustainable tourism and able to plan a future for these places. The design experiment conducted in Savogno combines the themes of widespread tourism and simple architectural beauty of alpine landscapes. The method below proposes a project for the recovery and management of the entire heritage of the village, aware of its history and oriented towards future development. The development of the project by phases highlights the problems of such an operation and allows a conscious and targeted realization of the needs of future users and actors in the development of these places.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
