Le radici del sacro. Architettura tra individuo e comunità

The series of reflections dealt with in this Thesis are the approach with which an international architectural competition was dealt with, the theme of which is a place of worship for three religions. The issues described represent the questions that we asked ourselves in the planning phase, to be re-examined after the outcome of the competition, not because dissatisfied with the result, but rather to look for a friction within the design process, something that it had gone unnoticed in our eyes, because they were too involved to see it. We decided to ask to university professors and architects for this purpose, in order to submit them to the same processes that were dealt with during the project phase. The result, conceived and written in six hands by Mirko Santoni, Matteo Serra and Andrea Ruggieri, consists of a narration between theory and application, so as to reach the final project by retracing all the reasoning carried out and the considerations that have emerged. We thank, therefore, for the availability and time dedicated to us Marco Biraghi, Alberto Ferlenga, Guido Mario Morpurgo, Renato Rizzi, Luigi Trentin and Renato Vitiello. The first draft of "Le Radici del Sacro" is supplemented by a project focus on the themes of Joint and Agreement by Matteo Serra. The narrative of the Thesis is also enriched by a photographic dossier that, retracing the major sources of architectural inspiration (figure), compares them with the results obtained (actions) to reposition the project in an existing architectural panorama.

La serie di riflessioni trattate in questa Tesi di Laurea costituiscono l’approccio con in quale è stato affrontato un concorso internazionale di Architettura il cui tema è un luogo di culto per tre religioni. Le questioni descritte rappresentano gli interrogativi che ci siamo posti in fase progettuale, per poi essere riesaminate dopo l’esito del concorso, non tanto perché insoddisfatti del risultato conseguito, ma piuttosto per cercare all’interno del processo progettuale una frizione, qualcosa che fosse passato inosservato ai nostri occhi, perché troppo coinvolti per poterlo vedere. A questa finalità abbiamo deciso di chiedere colloquio a dei Professionisti e Professori universitari, al fine di sottoporli agli stessi processi affrontati in fase di progetto. Il risultato, pensato e scritto a sei mani da Mirko Santoni, Matteo Serra ed Andrea Ruggieri, consiste in una narrazione tra teoria e applicazione, in modo da giungere al progetto finale ripercorrendo tutti i ragionamenti effettuati e le considerazioni che ne sono emerse. Ringraziamo, dunque, per la disponibilità e il tempo dedicatoci Marco Biraghi, Alberto Ferlenga, Guido Mario Morpurgo, Renato Rizzi, Luigi Trentin e Renato Vitiello. La prima stesura di “Le Radici del Sacro” viene qui integrata da un focus progettuale sui temi di Giunto ed Accordo a cura di Matteo Serra. La narrazione della Tesi viene inoltre arricchita da un dossier fotografico che, ripercorrendo quelle che sono state le maggiori fonti d’ispirazione architettonica (figure), le mette a confronto con i risultati ottenuti (azioni) al fine di ricollocare il progetto in un panorama architettonico di riferimento.
