The Wake project aims at re-educating convicts to the community life. Since research shows that coercive approaches to the rehabilitation of prisoners is not effective in diminishing criminality, a new system is highly desirable. To encourage and spread positive and constructive behaviours, the new system should facilitate the interaction and collaboration of convicts with both social services and the society as a whole. Therefore, The Wake project transcends simple social themes and has wider impacts on a myriad of disciplines, among which Interior Design. The project is framed within a noble baroque context where a variety of activities, aimed at facilitating the interaction between prisoners and hotel customers, are encouraged. The main theme of the concept is the mutual influence derived from interactions between different actors, and leads to the definition of a hotel featuring many elements that stimulate cooperation and sharing of experiences, and aimed at developing the characters of the main characters. For example, the structure features the presence of a pub, a library, a cinema, and favours the contact with nature.

Abstract
For example, the structure features the presence of a pub, a library, a cinema, and favours the contact with nature.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
