The thesis aims to present the design of a new food related product throughout all of the stages of its development. In recent years there has been a growing need to reintroduce into our lives elements from old, more traditional ways of doing things, particularly relating to home made foods and the health benefits they bring with themselves. This health conscious approach to food is usually followed by an awareness of the choice of materials that come into contact with food and a desire to live sustainably. The paper presents the design process of a kitchen product intended to show the diverse possibilities in exploration of food preparation, while expressing the emotional aspect of the care given to home made meals. The aim is achieved by creating a product that gives a great liberty in its use, ranging from which food container it can hold to the exact temperature and time settings, all while taking up minimal space in storage and being easily portable. The design process in which the product was created contains in itself literary research of products, materials and properties needed to make the design effective, as well as case studies of suitable materials, sketch drawing and fabrication of prototypes.
La tesi mira a presentare il design di un nuovo prodotto alimentare correlato in tutte le fasi del suo sviluppo. Negli ultimi anni c'è stata una crescente necessità di reintrodurre nella nostra vita elementi da vecchi e più tradizionali modi di fare le cose, in particolare relativi agli alimenti fatti in casa e ai benefici per la salute che portano con sé. Questo approccio salutare al cibo è solitamente seguito dalla consapevolezza della scelta dei materiali che entrano in contatto con il cibo e dal desiderio di vivere in modo sostenibile. Il documento presenta il processo di progettazione di un prodotto per cucina inteso a mostrare le diverse possibilità nell'esplorazione della preparazione del cibo, mentre esprime l'aspetto emotivo delle cure fornite ai pasti fatti in casa. L'obiettivo è raggiunto creando un prodotto che dia una grande libertà nel suo utilizzo, che va dal contenitore di cibo che può contenere alla temperatura esatta e alle impostazioni di tempo, il tutto occupando uno spazio minimo in magazzino ed essendo facilmente trasportabile. Il processo di progettazione in cui è stato creato il prodotto contiene in sé una ricerca letteraria di prodotti, materiali e proprietà necessarie per rendere efficace il design, nonché studi di casi di materiali adeguati, disegno di schizzo e fabbricazione di prototipi.
