Social hub. Centro culturale di azione collettiva

Milan, Corso Garibaldi, block included between via Marsala and Piazza XXV Aprile. A red pavement opens the block and frees it from its constraints, faces the public space and mixes with it; the boundary between the inside and the outside becomes indefinite, almost irrelevant. The threshold is perceived thanks to four new corten portals which show themselves proudly throught the openings they have created. Five entrances, five different paths, a central court as protagonist and other actors along the way. Relationships create opportunities, opportunities create communities. The social initiative must be realized not to remain mere rhetoric, culture is sterile if it is not at the service of the man. The aim of the project is to manage social pre-existences that already coexist in the area and to integrate the in-place activities with spaces for cultural exchange; the block is now transformed into a network of information, communication and education concerning the common good , but it is also a practical and concrete laboratory. The center physically transposes the concept of an IT hub that collects news, events, and material and puts them into a network in order to offer a dynamic service, always updated and contaminated by the same user. It is an incubator of associated spaces that work on the social theme on different levels: from volunteers who work directly on the field, to exhibitions that spread experiences from around the world, passing through the children playing in the court and the initiatives of Cinema Anteo. The House of the Associations is implemented, the court is brought back to its historical level; this operation recreates the spatial continuity with the cloister, which becomes a more feasible access. The basement floor acquires luminosity and a new relationship with the outdoor space; the cellars have been converted into a Fab - Lab and coworking space, and a new cafeteria welcomes us at the entrance of a place where conviviality is always a prerogative. Reconnection. Mending. Respect. Renovation. The previously fragmented block has been converted into an organism whose parts are complementary to each other; people are now invited to participate more than ever.

Milano, Corso Garibaldi, isolato compreso tra via Marsala e Piazza XXV Aprile. Una pavimentazione rossa apre l’isolato e lo libera dalle sue costrizioni, si affaccia sullo spazio pubblico e si mescola con esso, il confine tra dentro e fuori diventa impalpabile, quasi irrilevante. Si percepisce la soglia, quattro nuovi portali in corten si lasciano intravedere decisi e fieri del varco che hanno trovato. Cinque ingressi, cinque percorsi diversi, una corte centrale nel ruolo di protagonista ed altri attori lungo il percorso. Relazioni creano opportunità, opportunità creano comunità. L’iniziativa sociale deve concretizzarsi per non rimanere mera retorica, la cultura è sterile se non al servizio dell’uomo. Il progetto si pone l’obiettivo di gestire le preesistenze a carattere sociale che convivono già nell’isolato e integrare le attività sul campo con spazi di scambio culturale che permettano di trasformarlo in un network di informazione, comunicazione, ed educazione sul tema del bene comune, ma anche un laboratorio pratico ed efficace. Il centro traspone fisicamente il concetto di un hub informatico che raccoglie e mette in rete notizie, eventi, e materiale riguardante un tema, in modo da offrire un servizio dinamico, sempre aggiornato e contaminato dallo stesso utente. Un incubatore di spazi associati che lavorano sul tema del sociale su diversi livelli: dai volontari che lavorano direttamente sul campo, alle mostre che divulgano esperienze da tutto il mondo, passando per i bambini che giocano nella corte alle iniziative del Cinema Anteo. La Casa delle Associazioni viene implementata , la corte viene riportata alla sua quota storica ritrovando continuità con il chiostro del quale diviene un più fluido accesso. Il piano seminterrato ne acquista in luminosità e rapporto con gli spazi esterni, così le cantine sono state riconvertite in un Fab - Lab e spazio di coworking, una caffetteria ci accoglie all’ingresso, la convivialità è sempre una prerogativa. Riconnessione. Ricucitura. Rispetto. Rifunzionalizzazione. L’isolato dapprima frammentato è stato convertito in un organismo le cui parti sono complementari tra loro, l’uomo più che mai è invitato a partecipare.
