Iconic urban gathway as an urban linkage. New expansion of Piacenza's train station

ABSTRACT The revitalization of green urban ring road is the priority of the urban strategy, solving the urban nodes and the new vision of linkage between the fragmented public spaces in relation of each other and also the urban fabric is the most important issue needed to be solved in the urban scale. This issue needed to be solved in different zones to add more value to the city and public realm and provide more feasible linkage and connectivity for citizens and the city. One of the most sophisticated and complex zones within this strategy is the train station of Piacenza, because it is dealing with more issue than the others. First of all the relation between Giardini Margherita and Piazale Marconi to train station needed to be redesigned and reconsidered to establish a new relationship and make it more readable and activated to the maximum efficiency , and also re-organization of functions and the usage to improve the current situation, from one hand. And on the other hand, the lack of connection to the industrial zone which is located on the other side of the railway's track ,and lack of proper connection to it, and the connection to the river Po is one of the issues which affect the urban area. in addition to all above, the new treatment to train station itself is necessary. the expansion of the building with an iconic approach to overseen the sustainability of project area and provide a new definition is one of the most important gate way of the city, is also needed to be considered in the architectural scale.

La rivitalizzazione della tangenziale urbana verde è la priorità della strategia urbana, la risoluzione dei nodi urbani e la nuova visione del collegamento tra gli spazi pubblici frammentati in relazione tra loro e anche il tessuto urbano è la questione più importante da risolvere in la scala urbana. Questo problema doveva essere risolto in diverse zone per aggiungere più valore alla città e alla sfera pubblica e fornire collegamenti e connettività più fattibili per i cittadini e la città. Una delle zone più sofisticate e complesse all'interno di questa strategia è la stazione ferroviaria di Piacenza, perché ha a che fare con più problemi rispetto agli altri. Innanzitutto il rapporto tra Giardini Margherita e Piazale Marconi per la stazione ferroviaria doveva essere ridisegnato e riconsiderato per stabilire un nuovo rapporto e renderlo più leggibile e attivato alla massima efficienza, e anche la riorganizzazione delle funzioni e l'utilizzo per migliorare situazione attuale, da una parte. E d'altra parte, la mancanza di connessione alla zona industriale che si trova dall'altra parte della linea ferroviaria, e la mancanza di una connessione adeguata ad essa, e la connessione al fiume Po è uno dei problemi che riguardano l'ambiente urbano la zona. oltre a tutto quanto sopra, è necessario il nuovo trattamento per la stazione stessa. l'espansione dell'edificio con un approccio iconico per supervisionare la sostenibilità dell'area del progetto e fornire una nuova definizione è una delle porte più importanti della città, è anche necessario essere considerata in scala architettonica.
