This project is dedicated to the sacred and vulnerable spaces facing the transition under changing conditions of human activity. On the base of Olhon Island of Lake Baikal, it studies the possibility to minimize the effect of human presence through subtle architectural interventions while maintaining the access for people who seek for an experience of the place. Olhon is the biggest island and the heart of the Lake Baikal. Recent changes in the areal infrastructure increased its accessibility for numerous travelers and the word of its peculiarity keeps people attracted to the mysterious Island. However, along with the interest raises a question of whether the unique environment can sustain the growing number of visitors without suffering a damage to its character, or otherwise what we can do to help it. The project studies a possibility to introduce required transformations enforcing the space to keep it intact and provide conditions for users to discover and explore without leaving a trace of their presence.

Abstract
The project studies a possibility to introduce required transformations enforcing the space to keep it intact and provide conditions for users to discover and explore without leaving a trace of their presence.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
