Abstract
The geopolitical chessboard released by the disappearing of the USSR, otherwise the social and economic claims coming from this process, have established a fore-stage depicting infrastructures as a main identifying figure. The Kazakh Capital of Astana and its environs rises the memories of a former Soviet Empire’s province, in which coexist the relics of Pleistocene Mastodons and the wrecks of Star Leviathans; where the West found its very last frontier, out-post to bound Mongolians, even front-line to the cultural and ethnic–hybridization. European people of others, figuring-out incarnate melting to ground, and eyelids enforce to almond-shape by the wide of the horizons. It’s here where Russia, in the name and on behalf of the Western Countries, still pays for its domain on the fragile connection between Mankind and its Orbiter-observatory. The Project-design interweaves fragments for a Territory longed-for by the Real-Estate greed, but claimed by the wind, and where the identities of urban-systems (as Settlements, Infrastructures, and Landscapes) meet wild-meadows not “green and light-blue” in colors, but fading to amber shades. Finally, it’s portrayed-out a frame made onto the existing Land-pattern, able to preserve the Wet-land footprint of Taldykol’ reservoir and, at the same time, dissipating the prevalent mineral frictions coming from massive building-activities. It’s almost sedimentation, even horizontal, disputed between the very Nomadic origins and the Soviet-time civilization, addressed to a Land as an experiment to stress the concept of “basic-unit for territorial recognition”, figuring as for «shaping», the dwelling and its matter. A Gestalt-theory modeling-oriented to qualify the place as a Landscape. «Tone», «Brightness» and «Colour-saturation», are here the main elements to arrange (or cum-ponere, referring to Latin), or to survey Memories, Cultures, and Settlements (both Nomadic and for Inhabitants), to ensure the visible: “true mystery of the world” (O. Wilde).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
