Franco Albini : interni e allestimenti degli anni Trenta

The aim for this thesis is to retrace the first ten years the famous Italian architect Franco Albini’s career, focusing on the works that speak to us through black and white images which at the same time, while exalting the spatial environments, deprive us of an equally inseparable aspect of a project, the study of combinations of colours and materials. A memory that, fortunately, is not lost and has been preserved in the notes of the original drawings, in the project reports, and in the detailed descriptions of the articles published in those years, in particular in the architecture magazines «Casabella» and «Domus», as well as the catalogues of various exhibitions and Triennials. Through the study and the synthesis of these sources, this research wanted to recreate for each space an atmosphere where the chromatic aspect was the predominant one, furthermore concretizing itself in the digital restitution with graphic support of four of the early masterpieces by Franco Albini.

Lo scopo che ci si è prefissi in questa tesi di laurea è di ripercorrere i primi dieci anni di carriera di un famoso architetto quale è Franco Albini, concentrandosi sulle opere che ci sono pervenute tramite immagini in bianco e nero le quali, pur esaltando la spazialità degli ambienti, ci privano al contempo di quell’aspetto altrettanto inscindibile di un progetto, quale è lo studio di accostamenti tra colori e materiali. Una memoria che fortunatamente non è perduta, conservata nelle note contenute nei disegni originali e nelle relazioni di progetto, e nelle dettagliate descrizioni degli articoli pubblicati in quegli anni, in particolare dalle riviste di architettura «Casabella» e «Domus», oltre che dai cataloghi di mostre e Triennali. Attraverso lo studio e l’unione di queste fonti, si è voluto ricreare per ogni ambiente un’atmosfera dove l’aspetto cromatico fosse quello preponderante, concretizzandosi inoltre nella restituzione digitale su supporto grafico di quattro dei capolavori giovanili di Franco Albini.
