Technology has profoundly changed the way we teach and learn worldwide and will certainly continue to do it. But, where is this technology coming from? Who is paving the way for new technologies into the Higher Education arena? Indeed, it is coming from everywhere: a wide variety of tools and innovations created by many different vendors in a still unorganized, unclear emerging market known as the EdTech Ecosystem. With focus on the younger players of the market, the purpose of this study is to develop a framework to identify and classify the start-ups, mapping them according to relevant dimensions for Universities. The framework is produced from a deep literature analysis, an exhaustive research of the companies operating in the field, interviews with different players in the market and case studies that allowed to validate the framework and anticipate possible perspectives of evolution for the sector.

Abstract
Technology has profoundly changed the way we teach and learn worldwide and will certainly continue to do it. But, where is this technology coming from? Who is paving the way for new technologies into the Higher Education arena? Indeed, it is coming from everywhere: a wide variety of tools and innovations created by many different vendors in a still unorganized, unclear emerging market known as the EdTech Ecosystem. With focus on the younger players of the market, the purpose of this study is to develop a framework to identify and classify the start-ups, mapping them according to relevant dimensions for Universities. The framework is produced from a deep literature analysis, an exhaustive research of the companies operating in the field, interviews with different players in the market and case studies that allowed to validate the framework and anticipate possible perspectives of evolution for the sector.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
