Despite the acknowledgement of the increasing relevance of supply chain management (SCM) in the luxury market, very few specific contributions dealing with this industry have been proposed in the supply chain (SC) related literature so far. This research is going to analyse the luxury industry market, particularly the luxury watch industry, with a specific focus on the relationship between Brand Owners and retailers. Among the wide area of Supply Chain Management, this work will consider contracts as a powerful means of coordination. The objective of the research is to go deeply in the luxury watch industry studying the relationship among the two parties from the perspective of retailers, which are the first and contact between brands and final customers. Thanks to interviews with retailers it was possible to identify critical issues affecting the relationship, and through to the insights given by the retailers itself it was possible to propose solutions aiming at fostering collaboration among the two parties.
Nel mercato dei beni di lusso le tematiche legate alla gestione della filiera di approvvigionamento, produzione e distribuzione stanno assumendo crescente rilevanza. Ciò nonostante, pochi sono i contributi dal punto di vista accademico in relazione all’industria del lusso. Questa ricerca analizzerà il mercato dell'industria del lusso, in particolare il settore dell'orologeria di lusso, con un'attenzione particolare al rapporto tra i brand e i rivenditori autorizzati. All’interno del vasto mondo della Supply Chain, questo lavoro considererà i contratti come un potente mezzo di coordinamento. L'obiettivo della ricerca è quello di valutare in profondità il settore dell'orologeria di lusso, studiando il rapporto tra le due parti dal punto di vista dei rivenditori, essendo il contatto diretto con i clienti finali. Grazie alle interviste con i rivenditori autorizzati è stato possibile individuare le criticità che influenzano il rapporto, e attraverso l’esperienza, le opinioni e i consigli forniti dagli stessi rivenditori è stato possibile proporre soluzioni volte a favorire la collaborazione tra le due parti.
