Maintaining and improving the Power Quality within modern electrical power systems have been always an issue and its importance is increasing constantly. There are many studies to improve power quality and one of the legitimate solution to this problem is the use of Open Unified Power Quality Conditioner (Open UPQC). The objective of this thesis is to analyze the real data of one LV network and to study the possible effects of Open UPQC on the grid utilizing the real data gathered throughout almost one year. Using the data collected by smart meters, further calculations have been carried out on the each node of network analysed. Potential modifications on the grid are studied in order to observe their effects on the power quality. The analyses of the network are conducted under different scenarios. Lastly, the possible impacts of the Open UPQC on the network are studied with different conditions. It is also investigated how the grid responds to the modifications which are made in order to take advantage of Open UPQC more efficiently

Abstract
It is also investigated how the grid responds to the modifications which are made in order to take advantage of Open UPQC more efficientlyFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
