English abstract In the last decades, after the disposal of the freight yard of Milano Porta Genova, the area has been one of the majoir point of discussion of the municipality and planners. The redevelopment of the disused railway stations in Milan is now the focus of a debate that sees in its refunctionalization a great opportunity to rethink the city strategically. Taking into account the heterogeneous needs of the Metropolitan City and its future, it aims to give place to the most urgent subjects such as: public space, green space, mobility, transport, connections, services and residence. The heterogeneous and complex fabric that characterizes this piece of the city is the result of the profound urban and social transformations that have followed over the course of time, and have given rise to a multitude of different scenarios. In this proposal, the regeneration of the Porta Genova railway yard looks at the community and seeks in the first instance to give value to that emptiness generated by the dismantling of the railway line from Porta Genova to S. Cristoforo. Thus, the project of public space becomes fundamental, with which the project investigates the individual relationships and with its surroundings; then it proposes a public structure able to strengthen the identity of the place and at the same time to let its free use. The project masterplan proposes a linear system that develops from the Piazzale della Stazione of Porta Genova to Ponte delle Milizie. Built and park, always parallel to the base of the tracks and the Naviglio, "exchange" generating unexpected episodes, nodes of relationship with the city. The linear park connects the southern suburbs with the center and renews the dialogue between two parts of the city separated by the railroad fence. The head of the system is the market, which extends from the Piazzale della Stazione up to the Ponte di Via Valenza, generating in a longitudinal direction the promenade that connects the two spaces. In its altimetric development, between the road and the internal part of the area, an 'active' and permeable margin is created, generating "quality crossings" also in the transversal direction. The pivot of the linear system is the tower placed at the height of Via Bergognone, which plays a fundamental role at the base by relating two portions of cities with different identities. The double system of staggered residential buildings is centered on the redefinition of the 'edges' and on the quality of the entrance, the first is on the Naviglio in continuity with the building curtain north of the bridge and the other serves as the fifth of the park. The node with the Ponte delle Milizie is solved with a multifunctional building, southern head of the same system.
