Abstract
How can an architectural project fit between the lines of delicate and sensitive contexts, where there isn’t only one interpretation, but different characteristics to give it its uniqueness? The territory of the Ossola Valley responds to this identity. A land stratified by eras that remain anchored to the place and determine its individuality. From the Medieval villages, to the slopes sculpted by man for the production yield, up to the constellation of noble villas built in the nineteenth century. The reading of this beautiful picture motivated us to question the value and meaning of the insertion of any element within this balance. A project that possesses the inescapable ability to describe, which establishes a relationship with the connotations of space and it is able to operate by selections. It highlights and describes the structural features of the habitat to which it belongs. It does not fall into self-referentiality or mimicry but it deduces the tools for a contemporary interpretation from the context and respecting the place. The thesis work is an assumption to respond to a territory with a strong landscape vocation in a mountain environment. Trying to answer to broader issues, able to regenerate the entire territory, through a large-scale strategy. Specifically, as a field of action, one of the central poles of this research will be the main object of interest. Villa Caselli is a villa of the late nineteenth century, built on the foothills of the municipality of Masera. It is therefore the intention of the thesis work to create a close relationship between the anthropized landscape and architectural heritage, between production landscape and "loisier".File | Dimensione | Formato | |
