Chapter 1: “Theoretical Principles of Acoustic Emission” Fundamentals of Acoustic Emission are described from the description of the sources to the applications of this technology. Chapter 2: “Acoustic Emission and mechanical machining” This chapter focus on the use of AE for monitoring the condition of tool wear, surface roughness and depth of cut in the machining process, with different acoustic signal processing methods. Chapter 3: “Bearing Condition Monitoring with Acoustic Emission Techniques” The importance of Acoustic emission application to monitor bearing conditions in mechanical system and the evaluation of different parameters like AE counts, AE energy and AE amplitude in a sperimental study are shown. Chapter 4: Conclusions with advantages and disadvantages related to Acoustic Emission Technology in Condition Monitoring.
