The project is about the renovation of the ex-factory Borletti, in Milan, that has not been used for a long time, designing inside a Museum of Italian Fashion. The theme of a fashion museum in Italy has long been discussed, because our country is the only one, among those influential in the industry, that hasn’t one. All the major fashion capitals have a place dedicated to the preservation of fashion except Milan, which is the only one to still be deprived of it. The project aims to solve this problem, first of all, and secondly reassign a function to one of the many abandoned historic buildings of the city. The goal is to offer a narrative set-up that tells the history of fashion in relation to Italian socio-cultural history, two parallel timelines designed to bring out the close relation between the two, using communication tools as a narrative thread; as fashion is itself a communicative tool. Set-up based on the influences of the scenography, that is not only the exhibition path of the collection but that includes the interaction and it’s involving the user, directly called to relate to the exposed. Moreover, to maintain the appearance and the history of the industrial building, the exhibit is designed not to affect and mix with the building: the rooms will consist of "islands" each independent of the others, a sort of architecture within the architecture. The historical period considered goes from 1861, the year of Italian Unification, to today.

Abstract
The historical period considered goes from 1861, the year of Italian Unification, to today.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
