Northern lights travel is becoming more and more popular. Thus being an unique hotel has become an aim for those hotel operator. In the Iceland northern lights hotel project, it focuses not only the interior design, but also the hotel room itself. Making it movable, safe, durable and visible to enjoy northern lights are the target. Besides, taking the Icelander architecture history and new technology as considerations, respecting the nature and obeying the local rules are another challenge to it. The research is based on the site itself. Study the climate, terrain and local law conditions, we choose the statistics and field research information as the first step. To understand the site better, enlarge the target to the whole Icelandic island is a certain process. From Icelander architecture history to building materials and its tourist market make the project more elaborate.
