Circular economy is seen by both academics and practitioners as a suitable response to the unprecedented prices volatility in the natural resource markets that together with the increasing population represents threats that can jeopardize not only the profitability of private businesses but the entire planet.Indeed, circular economy is perceived as an alternative to the traditional take-make-dispose system in which resources are exploited as much as possible, maximizing the value creation in their use phase and recovering them at the end of their life. The objective of this thesis is to define a suitable set of guidelines that can support companies in the implementation of the transformation from the linear to the circular system. To perceive this goal a multiple case study approach has been followed and in particular a set of organizations have been selected from the beverage industry and from the paper one.
L'economia circolare è un tema di interesse sia nel mondo accademico che in quello di impresa, in quando rappresenta un efficacie risposta ai fenomeni che stanno minacciando la sostenibilità dell’intero pianeta. L’economia circolare si presenta come principale alternativa al classico sistema lineare, infatti nel paradigma circolare le risposte vengono sfruttate quanto possibile e il loro valore viene massimizzato in tutto il loro ciclo vita. L’obiettivo della tesi è di definite delle linee guida che possano supportare la trasformazione del modello di business dell’imprese da lineare a circolare. Al fine di sviluppare tali istruzioni, la tesi si basa sullo studio di casi reali che sono stati selezioni dalle industrie della carta e del packaging.
