The Lévy normal tempered stable process is a family of stochastic processes widely used in the industry in order to calibrate volatility surfaces. It is possible to show that these models reproduce a non consistent volatility smile for short time volatility surfaces. We have generalized the family of Lévy processes to a family of Additive processes which can solve the small-time problem. A closed formula solution for option prices in this framework can be obtained using Lewis formula. The Additive process is used to calibrate a surface of volatility on S&P 500 and Eurostoxx.

Abstract
The Lévy normal tempered stable process is a family of stochastic processes widely used in the industry in order to calibrate volatility surfaces. It is possible to show that these models reproduce a non consistent volatility smile for short time volatility surfaces. We have generalized the family of Lévy processes to a family of Additive processes which can solve the small-time problem. A closed formula solution for option prices in this framework can be obtained using Lewis formula. The Additive process is used to calibrate a surface of volatility on S&P 500 and Eurostoxx.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
