This work is focused on the analysis of the variation of adhesion over time as a result of the wear of the pavement. Several researchers have focused on analyzing the behavior of different aggregates or different mixtures, but in the literature there is no analysis of the use of different types of bitumen. For this reason, in this thesis we tried to determine if the use of different types of binder has an effect on the behaviour of adherence over time. To determine this, tests were carried out using the CLA test, but instead of using specimens with pure aggregate, were used specimens with aggregates covered by a film of bitumen. We analyzed five different types of bitumen, two ordinary bitumen with different penetrometric class, the same bitumen with addition of adhesion activator, and an hard modified bitumen. The type of test used that consists of a partially modified CLA test produced a decay of the friction in line with what was determined by other authors through in situ or laboratory tests. Deduct that the type of test carried out is able to simulate the deterioration of skid resistance, from the initial results it seems that the different type of bitumen has no effect on the trend of adherence over time. In the first phase of aggregate polishing, the determined trend does not follow a continuous increase in adhesion. Instead, there were three stages of increase and decrease of friction, and we tried to explain this phenomenon. Two different theories have thus developed. However, it is considered necessary to carry out further tests to determine which of the two theories is to be considered valid, as this would also confirm whether the friction trend is influenced by the type of bitumen used.

Abstract
However, it is considered necessary to carry out further tests to determine which of the two theories is to be considered valid, as this would also confirm whether the friction trend is influenced by the type of bitumen used.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
