This work investigates the impact of the GreenValve system on water adductions in Ticino, it essentially studies the energetic potential of the Ticino territory taking into account the technical and economic feasibility of the application of the new technology GreenValve, that could replace the current flow control valves, situated in pressure breaking chambers and tanks of the adduction network. The GreenValve is a completely innovative system, both in terms of design and energy recovery, as it has not yet been applied to water adductions: it is configured in the installation of a turbine inside a ball valve, allowing in this way the recovery of part of the energy normally dissipated, in addition to a common control of the flow. The purpose of this research is not to overcome the feasibility of an application of the GreenValve system, obtaining a firm and unequivocal answer, but it might be a robust starting point on which to build and refine the research, with a view to actually proceeding to replace the current control valves existing on the water adductions of the Ticino territory. After an introductory chapter that explains the origins and the goals of this study, it has been moved on – in the second section – to the analysis, in order to size the GreenValve and determine – through the break-even period – the impact of the system on water adductions in Ticino; the results are then presented in different forms. In the fourth and last chapter the conclusions of the present study are submitted, starting from which a possible path for the continuation of the research has been defined.

Abstract
In the fourth and last chapter the conclusions of the present study are submitted, starting from which a possible path for the continuation of the research has been defined.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
