Abstract
Corrosion is very important parameters for industry on the process and production quality and economical point of view. This research is focused on fresh water corrosion on carbon steel and affecting parameter of corrosion rate. To evaluate the closest match with real value of corrosion rate is compared with some models which is found from literature search. For this purpose, first model is Engineering Tools for Corrosion written by Luciano Lazzari, second model is Uhlig’s Corrosion Handbook, third model is research done by R. E. Melchers and B. B. Chernov, about Corrosion of mild steel in elevated temperature hard freshwater, fourth model is which is excepted as a real value from correlation between corrosion indices and corrosiveness of groundwater a study with reference to selected areas, corrosion rates were calculated by gravimetric method and results have taken. pH, alkalinity (ppm), temperature (oC), hardness (oF), resistivity, oxygen, calcium and chloride amount (ppm), total dissolved solids (TDS) (ppm) were taken with same value and then pHs, scaling index, corrosion rates with respect to models’ equations are calculated and compared. After all calculations; depend on these results decide which model is give close result to real value.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
