The project of our thesis aims to manage the problematic of non-linearity, which occurs between specific attenuation and frequency, thus leading to different levels of power attenuation for the same intensity of rain. Therefore, the HF-algorithm (Heterogeneous Frequencies-Algorithm) has been developed: it is an algorithm of tomographic reconstruction that allows to handle connection with heterogeneous frequencies. In the implementation a direct reconstruction of the precipitation field was chosen, as opposed to what the techniques of the literature did, as they reconstructed the specific attenuation in space. By doing so, none of the problems listed above occurs. The simulations which were carried out on the algorithm have been done with two different types of scenarios, an ideal one with 24 links at fixed frequency and a real one with 37 links at different frequencies, which represents the Northwest area of Milan.

Abstract
The simulations which were carried out on the algorithm have been done with two different types of scenarios, an ideal one with 24 links at fixed frequency and a real one with 37 links at different frequencies, which represents the Northwest area of Milan.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
